This is the unique original Gouache painting by 20th Century unidentified artist.

This 'Flying submarine' cutaway is painted on thick paper which has been pasted down onto a painted illustration board.

The artwork appeared in the Speed & Power book 1970, but was most probably painted earlier than this and used in an as yet unidentified issue of Look & Learn.

We are mystified as to why this invention hasn't taken off!
