Jean-Paul Tibbles (born 1958; Aylesbury, Bucks, UK)

Jean-Paul Tibbles is an English illustrator who has illustrated many American Girl series books. He currently lives in the United Kingdom. Jean-Paul Tibbles has illustrated most of the Historical Character Mysteries and all of Josefina's Books.

Jean-Paul Tibbles studied at Eastbourne College of Art. His work has previously been seen in the Portrait Award at the National Portrait Gallery in 1988 and 1989.

He has regularly exhibited in the annual exhibitions of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters (2001–12) at the Mall Galleries and was Awarded their Changing Faces Prize in 2005.

He has been accepted seven times to The Portrait Society of America's International Portrait Competition, where he was awarded the 2008 PSA Grand Prize in Philadelphia, winning the Grand Prize in 2008.

Jean-Paul Tibbles has had four paintings shown at the National Portrait Gallery's Portrait Award annual exhibition in London, the first in 1986 and the most recent 'JEAN 2015' voted by the public the 2016 BP Visitor Choice.
