R. Crumb Sketchbook: November 1983 to April 1987

Unlike the Crumb sketchbooks published by Fantagraphics or Taschen which are highly edited compilations, these Crumb sketchbooks published by Zweitausendeins are reproductions of Crumb's actual sketchbooks, unedited and unexpurgated.

Crumb's sketchbooks are filled with life drawings, still lifes, street scenes, cartoons, hand-drawn copies of photos and ads from magazines, as well as the germs of stories and comix that would later appear in published form.

These beautiful editions feature a leather binding, marbleized endpapers, and a ribbon bookmark. They reprint the sketchbooks unedited, so they include a separate booklet translating all the text into German.

The book is housed in a chipboard slipcase with a title label affixed to the "spine" of the slipcase.
