Although this vivid art was intended for an issue of Look and Learn 21st June 1980 it may not have seen publication due to a printers' strike.

    Roger Payne is a British artist and prolific book illustrator.

    He is known for his illustration paintings, which are characterized by their vivid colors and bold brushstrokes. He has illustrated many historical and classical scenes for Look And Learn, and numerous Odysseus, biblical stories, and mythology over the years.

    His homoerotic work is also well known and he has also done many illustrations for books and magazines.
