The World of Edena: Volume 5: Sra (French Edition)

Stel and Atana have been separated, but, writes Moebius at the beginning of Sra, "the force of desire which pushes Stel towards Atana is such that nothing seems able to stop our hero in his quest." Thus his steps carry him to the monastery of Sra, a strange "olofen" village» - which means, as everyone knows: "Reserved for unbound men." But unbound from what, exactly? Written in a dreamlike and often poetic form that frequently brings to mind the automatic writing of the surrealists, Sra marks the final point of the vast fresco of the World of Edena undertaken by Moebius from the mid-1980s - Les Réparateurs, published later, only constituting a sort of epilogue to the entire series.
Like a modern Gulliver, Stel travels through a succession of strange or enchanting worlds, before the final confrontation with his irreducible and malevolent enemy, La Paterne, determined to take control of Edena forever. By turns funny or disturbing, but always brilliant and inspired, the endearing work of an artist at liberty.
