This is the Signed unique original Pen & Ink Wash by James MacIntyre.

Edward Elgar Master of Melody. Elgar's famous Variations were inspired by a tune his wife used to hum. He later went on to write the Coronation Ode for King Edward VII which became more widely known as 'Land of Hope and Glory'.

Original artwork from Look and Learn issue 423, 21st February 1970. A rough sketch for a different composition of the art is pencilled on the reverse.
