This is the unique original Gouache painting by James Green.
An interesting page originally painted for inclusion in I See All: The World's First Picture Encyclopaedia with 100,000 Pictures Of People Places and Things and an Atlas of Every Country in the World.
This was a weekly part-work magazine that became a five volume encyclopaedia edited by Arthur Mee. It was published by Amalgamated Press between 1928-1930.
This is very fine detailed and accurate work which still has bold colour and clean art board despite the age.
