This artwork features the badge of the R.A.F. School of Air Navigation.

The RAF School of Air Navigation's motto was "Recte Volare," which translates to "To Fly Correctly" or "To Fly Right". This motto, along with a badge featuring a single star and the constellation of Orion, was chosen to symbolize the school's role in guiding and navigating pupils to find their way to the enemy.
