Eleanor Vera Abbott (9 November 1909 - 1972; Born Earlsfield, London, UK)
E.V. Abbott was a prolific British children's books and comics illustrator known for her charming, Mabel Lucie Attwell-style watercolors of fairy tales and nursery rhymes, published with Birn Bros. in the 1940s and 1950s.

Though prolific, details of her life are scarce, but she lived in Morden, near London and her original watercolour art occasionally surfaces for sale. She often signed herself "E.V.A."

Her work includes illustrated books for Birn Bros plus work for the children's comics 'Tiny Tots', 'Bedtime Tales' and 'My First Book'.
