A beautiful watercolour filled with movement and action in this vibrant depiction of a flamenco dance performed by a couple in Barcelona. Wide-eyed Wee Willie Winkie looks on in bewilderment as the rhythm of the dance takes hold. Accompanied by his friend Hannibal, a Baby Elephant and a local elder, the trio clearly enjoy the entertainment and their beverages.
Painted for a page of treasure magazine, this piece is also accompanied by two smaller panels free of charge, one of the famous Barcelona bird market and also a panel depicting the trio looking at Gaudi's cathedral masterpiece, the Sagrada Famillia.
Worsley, who spent time in a P.O.W. camp after being captured in Yugoslavia during World War II, achieves a fantastic liberation from the past by painting in such a fluid joyful manner.
Worsley's work can be found in The Imperial War Museum, The Maritime Museum, The collection of HM The Queen, The Savage club and many other private collections including those of Royal Families, banks and Colleges.Click for larger image ...
