We've been selling books and illustration art for over 40 years. We started trading in 1973 as Conquistador and were incorporated in 2001 and trade as The Book Palace. Our wide range of prestigious illustrated books covers book and comic illustration and includes first editions, limited editions and signed books.

Our excellent contacts and know-how mean that we can often source out-of-print, back-catalogued illustrated books and limited editions that are otherwise unavailable.

Book Palace Books was established in 1995 to publish limited edition books covering the worlds of art and illustration - including comic book and graphic novel reprints - to such a high standard that these books are highly collectable.

The art quarterly presenting the world's finest illustrators and their art. illustrators  is produced to the very highest standards and came out of our desire to showcase the talented artists who illustrate books and magazines, create graphic novels, comic books and newspaper strips, draw posters and all manner of cartoons.

This major art genre has long been overlooked and with illustrators we aim to create a permanent library of their inspired art.

Established in 1994, The Illustration Art Gallery (IAG) holds the world's largest selection of affordable illustration art including original book covers, magazine illustrations, comic strips, newspaper strips and graphic novels.

IAG offers the unique and affordable original art painted and drawn by over 600 eminent artists including Septimus Scott (RA), Fortunino Matania, Albert Uderzo, Graham Coton, Cecil Doughty, Dorian Cleavenger, Steve Rude, Bill Sienkiewicz, Ron and Gerry Embleton, Oliver Frey, Don Lawrence, Angus McBride, Eric Parker, John Millar Watt and Patrick Nicolle, amongst many others.

We welcome visitors BY APPOINTMENT to our premises in south east London, UK, which is open to visitors Monday - Friday, 10am - 4:30pm (10:00 - 16:30).

Please contact us in advance of your visit so that we can confirm the availability of any items that may be of interest to you.

We are pleased to offer work experience for a minimum 2 weeks and a maximum of 4 weeks to students and graduates who are interested in art or publishing.

The work involves general office admin and filing including art and book database entry, art and book photography and answering the telephones! There is client contact and we offer the chance to see how an established online art gallery and successful publishing house works.

Typing and computer literacy are essential. You should have excellent written and spoken English, have a good telephone manner, plenty of enthusiasm and an interest in art.

We are a friendly, relaxed company and our office hours are 9am - 5pm, Mon - Fri. Mostly we have fun, but we work hard.
