This is the unique original Gouache painting by Geoff Squire.

A single panel from the story 'When Norman Gnome Became a King' which appeared in the pre-school comic Playhour, published in 1960.

These stories were fully painted, funny and filled with little details that make them worth going back to time and again. Norman's look of despair as the ugly sister steps on his foot (again) is priceless, the supercilious musician is equally a delight.
