This is the unique original Watercolour painting by Nadir Quinto.

Two panels illustrating Odysseus's return home to the Island of Ithaca from the Trojan War and his encounter with the Sirens.

In Homer's classic epic, Odysseus is bound to the mast of his ship as advised by Circes in order that he may hear the song of the Sirens without becoming lost to their charms. All his sailors have had their ears blocked with wax so they are unable to hear the tempting song.

These paintings have been accomplished in vibrant paint and inks on cartridge paper which has been pasted to an illustration board, and published in 'Tell Me Why Book' 1978. These could however have been painted for an earlier publication and re-used in this manner, as was often the case.
