This is the unique original Mixed Media art by Ken Petts.

The Scene of the Crime: The Battle That Lost An Empire. The original caption reads; "When the tribesmen attacked the fort, the Egyptians had to be driven with whips to man the walls, and they finally withdrew in disorder."

The tribesmen were Abyssinians; the western advisors Americans who were despised by Egyptians. Khedive Ismail the man who was trying to modernise Egypt on behalf of the Sultan of Turkey but only earned his displeasure.
