The painting depicts a scene from World War II showing a US Marine approaching a Japanese dugout in the jungle.

This is the original painted art used on the cover of Battle Picture Library #186 "Trial by Combat" published by Fleetway Publications in January 1965. The art comes with the issue of the 1965 comic.
