This is the Signed unique original Watercolour painting by Eric Parker.

When Charles II returned from Holland the Parliamentary Army had to be disbanded and re-enlisted in the service of the King.

Top illustrations show such a re-enlistment at Tower Hill. The portrait is of General Monk who was asked by Charles to return to Britain despite his having served with Cromwell.

Right is the uniform of a Pikeman of the period.

Bottom left are members of Wentworth's Regiment who had been with Charles in Holland. They later became the Grenadier Guards. The mounted figure is an officer of the Horse Life Guards from around 1675.
