This is the Signed unique original Pencil drawing by Fortunino Matania.

One of a series his original sketches made during World War One and taken from Matania's personal sketchbook. The sketch on the reverse is of a horse.

Matania visited the front during WW1 and made copious sketches of the graphic scenes of war. His finished art was published in the magazines Graphic and Sphere. It is rare for preliminary sketches such as this to survive.
