Rugrats is an American animated television series created by Arlene Klasky, Gábor Csupó, and Paul Germain for Nickelodeon. The show focuses on a group of toddlers; most prominentlyTommy, Chuckie, Angelica, and twins Phil and Lil, and their day-to-day lives, usually involving life experiences that become much greater adventures in the imaginations of the main characters.
The series premiered on August 11, 1991 with an initial instalment of 65 episodes spanning three seasons with the last episode airing on November 12, 1994. The show's fourth season began in 1997. As a result of the show's popularity, a series of theatrical films were released over the next five years, including The Rugrats Movie. The final TV episode aired on August 1, 2004, bringing the series to a total of 172 episodes over nine seasons.
On July 21, 2001, Nickelodeon broadcast the made-for-TV special All Growed Up to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the series.
Dave King (born 12 February 1964) is an animation director, producer, writer and artist.
He wrote or drew strips including Count Duckula, Rugrats, Barbie, Beetlejuice, The Spice Girls, Scazza for Roy of the Rovers, Taliska's Travels in Time for Cosmic, and Dennis the Menace and Gnasher and Desperate Dan, for The Beano and The Dandy.
King worked extensively with Warner Bros. Worldwide Publishing, scripting and drawing Looney Tunes, Tiny Toon Adventures, Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain and Taz-Mania, with many of his strips published by DC Comics.
