Signed by artist in paint on frontThis is the Signed unique original Gouache painting by Walkden Fisher.
This is an exceptional piece of artwork which has survived the test of time. Painted by the incredible Eagle cut-away artist Walkden Fisher (1913-1979) better known simply as 'Fisher', as he signed his work with an emblem of a fish.
This work was painted for Britain's most famous comic: Eagle, and appeared in Volume 5 Number 28. A copy of the comic as well as an additional matted copy of the centrefold will also be grouped with this artwork.
This incredibly detailed painting was published in the Eagle as the centre spread on 9th July 1954 and shows Sydney Harbour Bridge in all it's glory. Note the many forms of transport painted in minute detail.
It is extremely rare to come across cut-away artwork painted for the Eagle as these are cherished by collectors.
The huge artwork has the official EAGLE stamp in red ink on the reverse as well as on the top left front of the board in black ink.
There is a slight repair to the board on the very top right hand side.Click for larger image ...
