This is the original Gouache painting by Dan Escott.

The combined armies of Poles and Lithuanians proved too much for the crusaders of the black cross. The Battle of Tannenberg almost destroyed the Teutonic Order.

The Order of Brothers of the German House of Saint Mary in Jerusalem, commonly the Teutonic Order, is a Catholic religious order founded as a military order c. 1190 in Acre, Kingdom of Jerusalem.
