This is the Signed unique original Watercolour painting by Cecil Doughty.

A striking and poignant painting used to illustrate The Gordon Riots. During Lord North's term of office, London spent five days at the mercy of a mob. Finally, on June 7, 1780, the King himself ordered the army to fire on rioters who were looting in the city. The uprising was suppressed, the leaders brought to justice.

This is the original artwork for the illustration on p23 of Look and Learn issue no. 187 (14 August 1965).
