This painting depicts a scene from World War II showing a British contingent of armoured cars racing across the desert to meet the German positions of Rommel's Afrika Korps. Very little original art from this period has survived and Coton was the master of this genre. Signed by the artist.
This is the original painted art used on the cover of War Picture Library #1926 "The Brotherhood of Assassins" published by Fleetway Publications in May 1982.
