This is the original Watercolour painting by Graham Coton.

The Gigant (Giant) was designed by Wilhelm Messerschmitt in late 1940. It later had engines fitted and became the first specially designed military transport aircraft. The glider was four times as large as it's nearest British rival.

The main problem was that as the controls were not hydraulically assisted it took enormous strength to pilot the glider. Later co-pilot controls were added to ease the task.
