Black Bartlemy's Treasure - Complete Two Page Episode.

Jesus Blasco adapts the 1920 novel by Jeffrey Farnol. Farnol (1878 - 1952) was a British author who, along with Georgette Heyer, has been credited with initiating the Regency Romance genre. His other mainstay was the Swashbuckler of which Black Bartlemy's Treasure is a prime example.

The story concerns a young man, Martin Conisby. He escapes from the Spanish fleet and returns to England to discover who sold him into slavery and killed his father. He then heads back to sea as the story takes a page or two from a mixture of Treasure Island and Robinson Crusoe. Pirates, hidden treasure, epic romance, skulduggery and heroics ensue.

Blasco masterfully brings this adaptation to life for younger readers. It appeared in Look and Learn issues 683 - 700, 15th February to 14th June 1975.

All artwork has been mounted on large boards, no text survives. Many pages are signed by the artist.
