An assassin breaks his hot date for a deadly meeting with Garth. Martin Asbury took over the artwork on the death of Frank Bellamy who had been the artist since 1971. He worked on the feature from 1976 until 1997 when the strip's original run finished. He also wrote some of the later episodes.
This is a wonderful dynamic example of the style Asbury brought to the feature. Garth's Science Fiction based adventures ran for over 50 years with the first episode making it's debut in July 1943. A slightly racy sequence for all the Dads in the audience. Dedicated "All the Best" and signed by Martin Asbury lower right.
Original artwork for the Garth strip published in the Daily Mirror 1st March 1980.
