2 Jason Edmiston Jason Edmiston is among the modern illustrators who still work in an old-fashioned way, that is to say, with paint and brush on canvas. He is very fond of what he does and exceptionally good at it, too. Known primarily for his illus‐ trations of monsters and villains from American pop culture, which as a Cana‐ dian, he claims as his own, “Our pop culture is the same as the American one, as ABOVE: King Kong , acrylic on wood panel, 2015. Part of Jason’s Eyes Without a Face series which he has been doing for five years now, with two gallery shows completed at Mondo Gallery, and a third in the works. He has painted about 300 portraits for this series alone. This painting was 8 feet wide by 3 feet high!
