Tries to buy it back through Max Aquino, the architect and agent for the new owner. When the attempt fails he arranges the “accidental” death of Aquino. His last throw is an attempt to steal the Red Gryphon but this is foiled by Modesty and Willie. ALEX STORY 8: “THE VIKINGS”: STRIP 914 Barman in a dockside bar in Bergen patronised by Captain Magnus and his crew. Tries but fails to persuade Modesty not to wait in the bar as it is a very rough place and for men only. A good hearted chap. Reminds Brother Nico that they are supposed to be men of peace. ALF STORY 59: “KALI’S DISCIPLES” STRIP 6324 Three card trick shill who attacks Ranjit for showing up the game and when Modesty tries to intervene he becomes rather too offensive. He is seen here as an example of what might befall the unwary who are rude to ladies. ALFREDO STORY 45: “DOSSIER ON PLUTO”: STRIP 4951 A fish seller in the village of Galeana, Mexico who sells Modesty a barrel of fish “for her friends the dolphins”. 2 AHMAD, Prince STORY 36: “THE VANISHING DOLLYBIRDS” TEXT ONLY STRIP 4139 He bought Carmen Ortiz for his harem from the white slave network run by Major Hamilton. At Modesty’s request he sold her to Sheik Kadhim al-Masfah so that she could be taken back to England. Carmen was not at all pleased with this and asked to be returned to the Prince because she liked the life in his harem. AHMED (1) STORY 46: “THE LADY KILLERS”: STRIP 5099 Old friend of Modesty and Willie in Morocco with a good sand yacht which he lends to Willie to get him to the dessert hideout of the Daughters of Freedom. AHMED (2) STORY 52 “DEATH IN SLOW MOTION”: STRIP 5700 An ex-Network contact of Modesty in Casablanca. Helps in the search for the kidnapped Inspector Brook and his daughter, Lynn. AHMED (3) A Network contact of Modesty in Morocco. STORY 68: “THE BIG MOLE” STRIP 7241 Warns Modesty that a wounded English soldier is hiding on a roof in the Kasbah and that some men are hunting him. Flashback. STORY 84: “HONEYGUN”: STRIP 8939 Held hostage by Honeygun at his house in the Kasbah and forced to contact Modesty. Honeygun is demanding help to escape from the police trap which has been given secret orders to kill her. AHMET STORY 37: “THE JUNK MEN” STRIP 4211 In charge of the gang that traps and entombs Modesty and Willie in Goreme. He tries to ensure that they die slow and lingering deaths. Knowing their reputations he deals very circumspectly with them.
