Has a paranoid desire for revenge and constructs a very complex plot to get Modesty to kill Willie using the mind bending drugs applied by Dr. Baum. When the plot fails he tries to kill Baum who lives just long enough to give a statement to the police that will send his killer to prison. MAISIE (1) STORY 39: “IDAHO GEORGE” STRIP 4346 Assistant and long time partner of Idaho George in his con tricks. Posing as Sita, the mouthpiece for Ram Dal Singh, the character George has adopted for this con. When George is kidnapped by Anastasia Bone she is forced to join him but is followed by Willie and friends, leading to the rescue of all concerned. MAISIE (2) STORY 78: “THE GRIM JOKER” TEXT ONLY STRIP 8345 Member of the staff at “The Treadmill” that Willie has made a note to send on holiday. MAISIE (3) STORY 91: “CHILDREN OF LUCIFER”: STRIP 9712 Alias used by Willie for Modesty when they are bluffing their way into “Blackwings”, the home of the Children of Lucifer. Her asthma was very bad that day and you couldn’t see her face for an inhaler. MAITLAND, Squire STORY 45: “DOSSIER ON PLUTO”: STRIP 4944 Renegade English double agent running both an illegal dolphin catching operation with Gaspar and trying to steal the dolphin research compiled by Steve Taylor and sell it to the K.G.B. When he tries to lead a second raid on the Research Centre he ends up being wrecked on the Seven Sisters rocks off the Mexican coast by Steve, with the help of Apollo, one of Steve’s dolphins. MALIK (1) STORY 66: “LIVE BAIT”: STRIP 7044A North African vice king, his mob was brutal, barbaric and big. When he made the error of kidnapping Rosina, a Network courier, Modesty put him out of business and in to prison. Recently released at the end of a long prison sentence, he has put a new gang together and now plans to revenge himself on Modesty. First comes the kidnap of Rosina’s daughter, Francesca. Then the child is used as live bait to make Modesty hand over the ransom. When she does so she will be captured. The final step is Modesty’s slow death under his hand. Outwitted and frustrated at almost every turn he has a heart attack and dies. MALIK (2) STORY 84 “HONEYGUN”: STRIP 8911 Gunman working for Raoul Kiffis. He holds his gun to the head of Claudine, a Network courier at the meeting between Modesty and Kiffis at the Hotel Zerna. He is the first to die. Flashback. MALLO STORY 56: “PLATO’S REPUBLIC”: STRIP 6029 North African white slave trader put out of business by Modesty and The Network. Supposedly disarmed by Krolli he produces a second gun and when he tries to kill her Krolli deliberately takes the bullet. Killed by Willie to stop him trying any further tricks. Flashback. MALONEY, Mrs. STORY 94: “THE KILLING GAME”: STRIP 9990 In charge of Modesty on the flight from England to New Guinea after Modesty has been abducted by Sebastian Kromm. With McNab she supervises Modesty’s induction into Orion’s Field and briefs her as to what will be expected from her when the hunt takes place. Is a bit disconcerted by the lack of any negative reaction to their circumstances from both of her prisoners.
