This is the unique original Gouache painting by Mike Tregenza.

Formerly known as the 'Missile Crawler Transporter Facilities', this pair of tracked vehicles used to transport spacecraft from NASA's vehicle assembly building are now simply known as the Crawler Transporter, and have gone down in history with enthusiasts of large moving machinery and astrophiles.

Painted here by Mike Tregenza in fantastic detail on a thick illustration board which also features an additional panel showing the comparative size of the vehicle assembly building, the Crawler Transporter and London's Post Office Tower.

This large art board has a crease to the right hand side which does not encroach upon the artwork.
  • Artist Biography
    Mike Tregenza
Little is known about Mike Tregenza. He was an illustrator of educational books for children in the 1970s, contributing a number of titles to the 'Picture Panorama of the World' series published by Owlet Books (1977) as well as books on space travel and the planets. The earliest book I have spotted was written and illustrated by Tregenza in 1974, entitled Espionage.

He also produced book jackets and an excellent set of illustrations for a series on the history of the submarine for Look and Learn in the Spring of 1981.
