These are the unique original Lithograph prints by Ross Wiggs.

A collection of 5 Dingbat posters produced for the pharmaceutical company Charles E. Frosst & Co. of Montreal, Canada, in the 1950s.

They are reprints of calendars that Charles E. Frosst & Co would send out to clients, and therefore were on the walls in dental and doctor offices and pharmacies throughout Canada.

These posters were designed by Ross Wiggs and titled "Hormone Synthesis in Dingbat Land", "A Ticklish Situation in Dingbat Land", "Unshaken Optimism in Dingbat Land", "Inoculation Parade in Dingbat Land", "Synthesis of Vitamin D in Dingbat Land".
  • Artist Biography
    Henry Ross Wiggs (28 December 1895 - 16 March 1986; Québec City, Canada)
    Henry Ross Wiggs was a Canadian artist who was born in Québec City, Canada.

    Wiggs grew up in St. Catherines Ontario, studied architecture at McGill University and then at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston U.S.A. graduating in 1922. He worked for several New York companies from 1922 to 1925, then returned to Montréal in 1927 and worked for several architectural firms there till 1932. During this time he achieved prominence as a delineator or illustrator of proposed buildings. He then went into practise for himself from 1933 to 1967 during which he won several awards.

    In his youth he studied drawing and painting with William Brymner and Maurice Cullen. While he was serving in the Canadian armed forces during World War 1, he drew a number of caricatures of fellow officers and men, many of which were published as postcards by The Canadian War Museum.

    He died in 1986 in Hamilton, Ontario.
