Stories from The Brave and The Bold #54, #60, #83; Showcase #59, #75; Teen Titans #1-24 and Hawk And Dove #1-6, from such talented artists as Nick Cardy (the principal artist here), Neal Adams, Gil Kane, Steve Ditko, even Wally Wood!

Only a short while after the first superheroes entered the scene, they were followed by a host of scrappy teenage sidekicks, like Robin, Kid Flash, Speedy, Aqualad, Wonder Girl. By 1964 there were enough of these young heroes-in-training to form their own team—the Teen Titans!

This youthful Junior Justice League came together to aid other youngsters and stomp out evil wherever they found it—all with the style and slang of the swinging ’60s. Dig it? Veteran Nick Cardy was quickly brought on board and his work here is among some of his best, as he came into his own in the late 1960s.

Interestingly enough, the quirky short-lived series The Hawk and the Dove is also included here. This was first created by writer Steve Skeates and artist Steve Ditko. This appeared in 1968, just after Ditko had left Spider-Man and jumped ship to DC Comics, given the green light to co-create this and other offbeat heroes like The Creeper.

Since this series ties into the Titans storyline, and appeared right alongside corresponding Titan issues, it is included here in perfect chronological order. Just as if you were buying these comics off the newstand, each month, and reading them in proper order.

Nick Cardy is now passed away. But in 2003 he wrote a fine little introduction to the first Teen Titans DC Archive and it appears here in its entirety. There are also profiles of all the creators, another of whom is the unique Bruno Premiani, best known for his outstanding work on the Doom Patrol. Here he drew the first two Brave and the Bold try-out issues for the Titans.

Nick Cardy took over for the third try-out in Showcase #59, and continued on the series for the first 18 or 20 issues, then contributed covers while Neal Adams took over the art chores.

This copy is still sealed, as new.
