This is the Signed unique original Gouache painting by John S Smith.

Mighty Machines: Turning the Desert Into a Land of Plenty. This giant digger was constructed by a West German company and used to dig a canal in Pakistan. This took three years and was completed in 1970.

After this the whole machine was dismantled and sent to Sudan where it was used to cut a canal from the White Nile for 350km to irrigate possible farming land in Northern Sudan and Egypt.
