This is the Signed unique original Gouache painting by Roger Payne.

Portrait of Frederick II ( 26 December 1194 to 13 December 1250) on horseback surrounded by his knights in armour. He was Holy Roman Emperor (King of the Romans), from his papal coronation in 1220 until his death, as well as King of Jerusalem by virtue of marriage and his connection with the Sixth Crusade.

This is the original artwork from Look and Learn no. 751 (5 June 1976).
