Hiawatha (also known as Ayenwatha, Aiionwatha, or Haiëñ'wa'tha is a legendary Native American leader and co-founder of the Iroquois confederacy. Depending on the version of the narrative, Hiawatha lived sometime between the 15th and 16th centuries and was a leader of the Onondaga or the Mohawk, or both. According to some versions, he was born an Onondaga, but also adopted into the Mohawk.

    F Stocks May (flourished 1950s)
    Illustrated many older children's books during the 1950s including 'The Boys Book Of Heroes' and 'Heroes Through the Ages'.

    Illustrated the serialisation of the Lone Pine book 'Seven White Gates' in the comic Mickey Mouse Weekly between December 1953 and March 1954.
