Stone Age labourers making flint tools at Grime's Caves, near Brandon in Suffolk, were probably the first export workers in British history.

At one time gold was the chief export of the British Isles. Along our roads went caravans carrying bullion worth millions in today's currency bound for the prosperous Mediterranean lands.

    Frank Marsden Lea (born 1910; UK)
    Frank Marsden Lea, born 1910. A talented artist and illustrator who, inter alia, designed posters for London County Council Tramways 1928-1932 and painted many illustrations for Look and Learn during the 1960s.

    He trained at the Nottingham Art School; 1916-1917 and also attended Manchester School of Art.
