The great French King Charlemagne, the Emperor of the Western Roman Empire. Not only a great politician and military leader; here we see him addressing the sons of nobles in one of the schools that he established. He heard one day that a particular class had not been paying attention to their work, he went himself and lambasted them for their idleness.
