This is the second book in the series, covering the stories published from 1964-1965: Mister Sun, The Mind of Mrs Drake and Uncle Happy.

Gentleman illustrator Jim Holdaway created the visual look for Peter O'Donnell's Modesty Blaise stories back in 1963, and illustrated the first 19 stories as Newspaper Strips, most of which were published in The Evening Standard. When in print, Holdaway's artwork was reduced from their glorious original size of 51 cm x 16cm to 17cm x 5.5cm, around 66% smaller than the original inks. This resulted in huge loss of detail. Subsequent editions, published by Ken Pierce and Titan Books collected the stories but still fell short of reproducing the artwork either at a decent size, or by using as much of the original art as possible as source material.

This new edition published by Bocola uses as much original source material as possible and reproduces the strips 3 per page, each strip at a great size of 26cm x 7.5cm, this allows us to really enjoy Holdaway's penmanship and subtler aspects of his fabulous artwork.

We can honestly say that in our opinion this is the most superior publication of Modesty Blaise newspaper strips, and we are proud to be amongst the many collectors who have provided much of the source material for future editions.
