This stunning cut away painting was painted by Leslie Ashwell Wood in 1935 for a page of the publication 'The Romance of the Nation, A Pageant of the British People through the Ages'.

This painting has also been paired up to the artist's pencil study which also holds much of the same minute detail as the final painting.
