This is the Signed unique original Watercolour painting by Frank Marsden Lea.
Gainsborough in his Studio. Gainsborough mixed his oil paints with a lot of turpentine which has resulted in them fading over the years. He was in the habit of tipping excess turps off his pallet onto a heated brazier the results of which were likely to cause alarm to his portrait subjects.

Frank Marsden Lea (born 1910; UK) Frank Marsden Lea, born 1910. A talented artist and illustrator who, inter alia, designed posters for London County Council Tramways 1928-1932 and painted many illustrations for Look and Learn during the 1960s.
He trained at the Nottingham Art School; 1916-1917 and also attended Manchester School of Art.
