Wonderful original painting of a Class 47 Diesel-Electric Locomotive, painted by Len Huxter for issue 868 of Look and Learn in 1978.

The Diesel-Electric was groundbreaking as it harnessed the two technologies, using the diesel initially to drive not the wheels, but an electric generator which feeds electric traction motors.

This is a great cut-away painting by a veteran of the style. An issue of the relevant comic is included with this comic. Professionally matted ready for framing.
