This is the unique original Gouache painting by Gordon Hutchings.
Num's friend comes for a visit and nearly gets into trouble with a hot oven. Fortunately crayons and cake save the day. Four panels on the original artboard from the 1960s.
These stories appeared in the short-lived children's pre-school title TV Toyland which was published between 1966-67 before being merged with the more well known Playhour.
Note slight glue residue at top of first panel where the title banner was once fixed.
Gordon Hutchings Gordon Hutchings took over the long-running Gulliver Guinea-Pig strip from Philip Mendoza around 1961 and his crisp charming work appeared in Playhour and later the Teddy Bear Annual.
