These are the unique original Gouache paintings by Gordon Hutchings.
Num's friend comes for a visit and they sit and draw while they wait for their tea. Fortunately crayons and cake save the day. Two pages on the original art board from the 1960s.
These stories appeared in the short-lived children's pre-school title TV Toyland which was published between 1966-67 before being merged with the more well known Playhour.

Gordon Hutchings took over the long-running Gulliver Guinea-Pig strip from Philip Mendoza around 1961 and his crisp charming work appeared in Playhour and later the Teddy Bear Annual.
