True War was an attempt by IPC to reach a more adult market in the late 1970's. It features two interior pen & ink drawn stories, both Jim Watson and Ian Kennedy produced great work for the title helped by better than average paper stock. However the concept failed either due to the high price 30p or the difficulty in telling true stories in comic form was too boring for kids; too juvenile for adult readers.

This is the cover of the first issue. It is a coloured photographic print of Allied troops advancing at El Alamein. It comes complete with acetate overlay with the logo and text. Please note there is NO original art or pen and ink as such. An incredibly scarce find.
