These are the unique original Gouache paintings by 20th Century unidentified artist.

A wonderful example of the bizarre world of pre-school British children's comics from the 1950s. The story was likely published in Jack and Jill and features an anthropomorphic pig and sheep. They run away from their mistresses to have a sea-going adventure only to be glad to arrive safely home.

This two page story still features the title paste up "and Betsy's Pig" One wonder's if the other girl was Mary or if the lamb was called Larry.

The art is really in a pre-war style and the expressions on the animal's faces are a delight. The art has been remounted and so presumably was printed on more than one occasion, details yet to be discovered. Artist unknown.
