This is the unique original Gouache painting by 20th Century unidentified artist.
Cartouche (page border painting) depicting Noah's Ark at rest on the peak of Mount Ararat after the flood.
According to the fourth verse of the eighth chapter of the Book of Genesis (Genesis 8:4), following a flood, Noah's Ark landed on the "mountains of Ararat".
On the right is a depiction of the protective spirit known as a lamassu, it is shown as a composite being with he head of a human, the body and ears of a bull, and the wings of a bird.
