3 for Commando since its debut in 1961. The recognisable dagger logo and the first-ever Commando cover, 'Walk - Or Die!', was from the creative mind of Ken Barr who would go on to deliver art for Marvel’s Thor the Mighty and Planet of the Apes among many others. As Editor-in-Chief, I work closely with the team to continue to diversify and explore new talent. We produce 126 pages of brand- new comic content every fortnight. Not to mention a further 126 pages of vintage, reprinted material too. The celebration of old and new artwork is part of Commando ’s DNA, and the DNA of our publisher, DC Thomson Media, who have also been responsible for Beano , The Dandy , Starblazer , Warlord and many other British comic stalwarts. Commando continues to be published across 63 A5 pages, with BELOW: Alex and the team take a momentary break from work to pose for an informal group portrait.
