I don’t know how I did it, which was typical of my feeble attempts to become an internet surfer, and I finished up on the Today’s Inspiration blog, looking at magazine illustrations by Gerry Fancett, Michael Johnson, and my oldest friend Walter Wyles. They had been published in British women’s magazines in the late fifties, and the accompanying text said, “Wow! There were a bunch of very talented illustrators doing romance genre art in England during the 50’s!” [ sic ]—and a mystery—“Who the heck were these guys?”, it went on “We’re hoping that someone out there will recognize the names of artists like Johnson, Walter Wyles and Fancett,
