78 Laurence Fish A sense of joie de vivre illumines the work of one of the last century’s most versatile artists, as recalled by Jean Bray. Laurence Fish was a romantic, with an eager and inquiring mind, a strong will and a ready wit. Never boring and great fun to know, he was nevertheless a modest and private man, which probably explains why such a prolific and successful artist is not better known and appreciated.
