With the assistance of David’s sons Patrick and Paul Wright, and visual material supplied by Roger Clark, Thomas Ward, and Luci Gosling at the Mary Evans Picture Library, we are able to present you with the most in-depth assessment of Wright’s life and career. The life of historical illustrator Cecil Doughty is explored in a fascinating essay by David Ashford, with the assistance of the artist’s son Chris, and scans of Doughty artwork provided by Laurence Heyworth of Lookandlearn.com picture library. The illustrations of Raymond Sheppard are explored by Norman Wright in a feature written with the assistance of the artist’s daughter Christine, and gallery owner Paul Liss, who, along with the Wildlife Art Gallery, supplied so many of the images that add lustre to this fascinating feature. David Roach looks at the stylish and urbane art of Renato Fratini. David and Bryn Havord, provide many of the images and Rian Hughes supplies a scan of a truly breathtaking original Fratini artwork. Steve Taylor’s Jordi Penalva scans make a punchy and explosive selection for our Gallery. To all concerned we offer our sincere thanks.
