39 vision but, sincewe had quite a different type of education and work experience, our combined sensibilities are diverse and complimentary, and hopefully it makes the end result richer.” Tomer and Asaf have thus collaborated in several illustration projects, including comic book 'Bipolar' ( Alternative Comics , from 2000 to 2004) and graphic novel 'The Divine', co-created with writer Boaz Lavie. By chance, the two heroes of the novel are twin boys, but fighting with more than pencils. Child soldiers in South East Asia, they team up with an American mercenary who becomes entangled with their mythic struggle against forces of oppression. A very full agenda! Violence is always intrinsic in the creations of Tomer, scattered with wit, along with non-conformism, irony and eroticism. These themes do not preclude poetry and fantasy, and suggest that much of the innate tension in his work derives from an oscillation between childhood dreams and adult cynicism.
